Firmware updater program cannot find the LinkStation

First, check the LinkStation's firmware version

If it is a version starting with number 1, then you will need to install a firmware version starting with 1.

If it is a version starting with number 2, then you will need to install a firmware version starting with 2.

If the correct version model is being used and problems are still occurring, temporarily disable your antivirus software and software firewall. Also your LinkStation should be connected to the same subnet as your computer.

Follow the procedure below.

1.

Look at the LinkStation's IP address in the IP setup utility.

2.

Open the command prompt. Choose one of the following operations depending on your computer’s OS.

Windows 8:
Press the "Windows" + "R" key to open the "Run" box or enter "ipconfig" directly.

Windows 7 or Windows Vista:
Click the [Start] button, then type "ipconfig" in the "Search" box.

Windows XP:
Click [Start] - [Run], then type "ipconfig" in the "Run" box.

The IP address that shows up here should be the same except for after the last period (.).
For example, if the computer's IP address is 192.168.1.50 and the LinkStation's IP address is 192.168.1.100, they are connected to the same subnet.

3.

Finally, make sure there are no virtual network adapters on the computer. These are created by programs such as VMware. You may need to uninstall the program in order to get rid of these virtual adapters.
