Cannot Transfer Files Larger Than 2GB or 4GB on the LinkStation

This is caused by the protocol used to mount the shares.

On the Mac OS, this means it has been mounted as an Appletalk share.
The limitation for Appletalk cannot be changed. However, OS X can mount it as a SMB (Windows) share and it wont have this restriction.
It will lose some Mac attributes, such as folder icons in the transfer.
On the Linux, this means that you will need to mount using the lfs switch to enable large file support.
For example: "smbmount //server/share /mnt/server -o lfs".
On the Windows 9x (95, 98, ME), this is a limit of the FAT16 or FAT32 file system that they see the share as.
This cannot be changed.
