Target Backup Folder is Not Shown in the Source TeraStation's Settings

Cause Solution
A shared folder in the target TeraStation is not configured as a backup destination. Specify a shared folder on the backup target for backup.
The password for the shared folder on the backup target is incorrect. Reset a password for shared folders on the backup target.
The NAS devices as a backup target is not compatible. Use a compatible NAS devices as a backup target.
Ethernet frame size differs on the backup origin and target. Make sure that the source and target devices are configured to use identical (or similar) Ethernet frame sizes. If Ethernet frame sizes are significantly different, the backup job may not be properly performed. In such a case, select the default frame size (1518 bytes).
LAN port 2 is used for a backup to a NAS under a different network segment. Use LAN port 1.

LAN port 2(*) supports the address setup of neither the default gateway nor the DNS server, resulting in no communication establishment between the NAS products under a different network segment.

* For TS-2RZH and TS-2RZS, this applies to LAN port 3 and LAN port 4 as well.

If the backup target is still not shown in the source TeraStation's settings, try the following.

    • Reboot the source and target devices, then reconfigure backup.

  • Initialize the source and target devices, then reconfigure backup.
